Nutty Date Loaf:

As a lover of nostalgia, my childhood memories of the kitchen often played a forefront to the recipes I created while my own children were growing up. Never being fond of dates, I remember cringing as this recipe was brought up, however, there is something about a date used in baking and the way it's sweet succulence diffuses through it's base. Let's just say... Grandma added it to my book!

All these years later, and a couple recipes created because of this scrumptious loaf, I offer it to you. You will find this recipe in some old book I am certain as Grandma's recipes were often either from a cookbook or something passed down from generations. This one I believe can be found on the back of an old flour bag and called for brandy or vodka. I however, have always preferred to cook with whiskey. Honestly, I never got to see the actual instructions because I was too young to read, so who knows if there was any alcohol in the mix other than Grandma's love for whiskey too! lol. I changed the nut amount simply because I love mine chalk full but you could always half the amount the recipe calls for.

You can serve this for dipping in some amazing milk or tea, as a base for a sandwich like oh my gosh... remember cream cheese filled loaves? lol... If only I didn't gain an extra 10lbs every decade! Or you could just have it with some morning java. Either way, Enjoy!

My Images are set to 10 copies at which point I will switch them out for another and they will no longer be up for sale. If this is something you love, now is the time to grab it!

The only exception is that during the Christmas season I will create cards and templates using the past years digital images and those as well will only be set to 10 copies.
